Plant Emergency First Aid: Quick Rescue Guide
Save your plants from common emergencies with these quick interventions.
Overwatering Emergency
Cease watering immediately. Remove the plant from its pot, trim any rotted roots, and repot in fresh, dry soil.
Severe Dehydration
Submerge the pot in a water bath for bottom watering. After 20 minutes, remove it. Avoid overcompensating with frequent watering thereafter.
Pest Infestation
Quarantine the affected plant at once. Identify the pest and treat accordingly. Check nearby plants for signs of infestation.
Sunburn
Relocate the plant to an area with indirect light. Prune damaged leaves and gradually acclimate the plant to brighter conditions.
Cold Damage
Move the plant to a warmer location. Refrain from pruning damaged areas until spring. Ensure consistent care during recovery.
Tip: Always research your plant's specific needs to prevent emergencies. Understanding its natural habitat can guide you in providing optimal care.
