Finally got my Monstera deliciosa to fenestrate properly after two years of fighting with inadequate light

Finally got my Monstera deliciosa to fenestrate properly after two years of fighting with inadequate light. Turns out my "bright indirect" spot wasn't cutting it—moved her closer to an east-facing window and the new growth came in with honest-to-goodness holes. The difference between survival mode and thriving is pretty stark. Anyone else's monstera leaf out fully formed without fenestration in low light, or was that just my struggle?
