I finally figured out why my snake plant was getting soft at the base—I was watering it way too often. Switched to watering maybe once a month and it's perked right up. Still got five other plants that are probably suffering from the same problem. Anyone else struggle with the temptation to water these things too much? They seem to actually prefer being neglected, which honestly works great for my terrible memory.
