I finally figured out why my ZZ plant looked so pale for the first year

I finally figured out why my ZZ plant looked so pale for the first year. Turns out I was watering it way too much. Now that I've backed off and let the soil dry out between waterings, the leaflets have gotten this beautiful deep green. It's honestly one of my easiest plants now that I've stopped fussing over it.
