I finally figured out why my ZZ plant was getting leggy — I was moving it around too much trying to find the "perfect" spot. Turns out it's happier with consistent light in one corner and pretty much ignored otherwise. Now it's putting out new growth I didn't think was possible. If yours seems sluggish, maybe it just needs you to stop fussing with it and pick a home it can stay in.
