I finally figured out why my ZZ was so slow to grow—I was watering it way too often. Moved it to a bright corner and cut back to once every three weeks, and it's actually pushing new leaflets now. The thing about ZZ plants in a dry climate like mine is they just don't need much water at all. If you've got one that's stuck, honestly just let it dry out more between waterings.
