I'm finally getting somewhere with my Ficus lyrata after months of trial and error

I'm finally getting somewhere with my Ficus lyrata after months of trial and error. I moved it away from the direct afternoon sun and stopped watering on a fixed schedule—now it's actually putting out new leaves instead of dropping them constantly. I still can't figure out if it's happy with the humidity in my tropical climate or if I'm just getting lucky. Has anyone else found that fiddle leaf figs are pickier about watering frequency than their size suggests? I'd love to know what works for others.
