I'm finally getting somewhere with my Monstera deliciosa

I'm finally getting somewhere with my Monstera deliciosa! Mine's been with me about eight months and only just started putting out a leaf with fenestration. I was honestly starting to wonder if I was doing something wrong, but I think it just needed time and patience. I've kept it in bright indirect light and let the soil dry out between waterings. Has anyone else had to wait this long for the characteristic holes to show up, or did yours fenestrate faster?
