I'm finally giving my pothos the trellis it's been begging for, and wow—it's already putting out bigger leaves

I'm finally giving my pothos the trellis it's been begging for, and wow—it's already putting out bigger leaves! I've had this one for maybe two years just letting it trail, but I realized I was doing it a disservice. Has anyone else noticed their pothos grows differently when you give it something to climb? I'm curious if mine will actually get those signature split leaves now, or if I'm too far gone with how I've been growing it.
