I've had my Epipremnum aureum trailing from a shelf for three years now, and I'm finally admitting it's thriving despite my neglect. I water when I remember, the pot drains into a tray I rarely empty, and it still produces new growth every season. I think people overcomplicate it—mine barely gets indirect light, sits in my arid kitchen, and wants nothing from me. Maybe that's the real secret to why it's so widely grown.
