I've had my Ficus lyrata for three years now, and I'm finally getting consistent growth instead of dropping leaves every season. Turns out my arid climate was actually the problem—I was misting it thinking that would help, but what it really needed was a humidifier nearby and deeper, less frequent watering. The new leaves are coming in glossy and robust. If you're in a dry region like I am, consider that fiddle leaf figs aren't actually adapted to our conditions, no matter what general care guides say.
