I've had my Monstera deliciosa for about three years now, and I'm finally seeing the fenestration I was promised. Turns out the real bottleneck wasn't light or humidity—it was patience. Mine sits in a bright corner of my living room in the Southwest, and it only started splitting leaves once it had enough mature growth to justify the effort. Worth the wait, though it does make me wonder how many people give up too early expecting dramatic leaves from young plants.
