I've had my peace lily for about eight months now, and it's finally starting to feel like we understand each other

I've had my peace lily for about eight months now, and it's finally starting to feel like we understand each other. At first I was convinced I was overwatering it because the leaves would droop so dramatically, but I realized it actually just gets very thirsty in my mediterranean sun—it's been much happier since I started checking the soil more often. Has anyone else found their peace lily more needy than expected, or is mine just particularly dramatic?
