I've had my pothos climbing up a moss pole for three years now, and it's finally starting to split its leaves properly

I've had my pothos climbing up a moss pole for three years now, and it's finally starting to split its leaves properly. I know everyone says they're bulletproof, but I think mine sat too long in low light before I figured out what it actually needed. Moved it closer to a window last spring and suddenly it's a completely different plant. Has anyone else found their pothos was just bored in the corner, or did I just neglect mine for way too long?
