I've had my pothos for about eight months now and I'm still figuring out the watering schedule

I've had my pothos for about eight months now and I'm still figuring out the watering schedule. Some days I think it looks happy, other days the leaves seem droopy even though the soil is barely damp. I know everyone says they're practically indestructible, but I'm wondering if I'm overthinking it? Has anyone else struggled with knowing when to actually water theirs, or is it just me being too cautious?
