I've had my pothos for three years now and it's finally climbing the way I wanted after I stopped overwatering it

I've had my pothos for three years now and it's finally climbing the way I wanted after I stopped overwatering it. Turns out I was drowning the poor thing—it prefers to dry out between waterings, especially here in the mediterranean heat. The real win is that it's now vigorous enough that I can actually propagate from it without guilt. Has anyone else found their pothos took a while to really take off, or was mine just being dramatic?
