I've had my Sansevieria trifasciata for about eight months now and finally got it right

I've had my Sansevieria trifasciata for about eight months now and finally got it right! I was overwatering like crazy at first because I kept thinking "it looks thirsty" — but it turns out they genuinely prefer neglect. Now I water maybe once a month and it's actually putting out new growth. Has anyone else struggled with the urge to fuss over their snake plants, or was it just me?
