I've had my Sansevieria trifasciata for about four months now and I'm still figuring out the watering schedule

I've had my Sansevieria trifasciata for about four months now and I'm still figuring out the watering schedule. I think I was overwatering it at first—the soil stayed damp way longer than I expected. Now I'm letting it dry out almost completely between waterings, and the new growth looks so much healthier. Has anyone else struggled with this, or am I just overthinking it? I'm still learning the signs my plants give me.
