I've had my snake plant for about eight months now and I'm still not totally sure how often to water it

I've had my snake plant for about eight months now and I'm still not totally sure how often to water it. Right now I'm doing it maybe once a month, but the soil feels dry for weeks at a time. I have it in a pot with drainage and bright indirect light, which seems to be working fine—no yellow leaves yet. Should I be spacing it out even more, or am I on the right track? I know Sansevieria is supposed to be low-maintenance but I'd hate to mess it up since I only have nine plants total.
