I've had my snake plant for about eight months now and I'm still not totally sure how often to water it

I've had my snake plant for about eight months now and I'm still not totally sure how often to water it. I know they're supposed to be drought-tolerant, but I keep second-guessing myself—does the soil look dry enough? I watered it maybe twice last month and it seems happy, but I'd love to know if anyone else here has a routine that actually works. Mine's in a bright corner and doing okay, but I feel like I'm just guessing at this point.
