I've had my snake plant for about eight months now, and I'm still figuring out the watering schedule

I've had my snake plant for about eight months now, and I'm still figuring out the watering schedule. Mine's in a bright corner, and I keep second-guessing myself—is the soil dry enough? I know they're supposed to be nearly indestructible, but I don't want to overwater and rot the roots. Has anyone else struggled with finding that sweet spot, or am I overthinking this?
