I've had my snake plant for about four months now and I'm still not sure if I'm watering it right

I've had my snake plant for about four months now and I'm still not sure if I'm watering it right. The soil dries out pretty quickly in my tropical humidity, which seems odd since everyone says they're drought-tolerant. I water maybe every two weeks, but I'm paranoid I'm overdoing it. Has anyone else grown Sansevieria trifasciata in a tropical climate? I'd love to know what schedule works for you, because mine is growing fine but I feel like I'm just guessing.
