I've had my snake plant for about six months now and I think I've finally stopped killing it with kindness

I've had my snake plant for about six months now and I think I've finally stopped killing it with kindness! I was watering it way too much at first, but once I realized it actually prefers to dry out between waterings, things got so much better. Now I only water it maybe once a month and it's actually putting out new leaves. Has anyone else struggled with the "less water is more" thing with these guys, or was that just me being a total plant parent newbie?
