I've had my snake plant for almost a year now and I'm still not sure if I'm watering it right

I've had my snake plant for almost a year now and I'm still not sure if I'm watering it right. It's doing fine, barely needs anything, but I keep second-guessing myself. I have it in a bright corner and water maybe once a month—sometimes less in winter. Does anyone else struggle with knowing when it actually needs water? I'd love to share a photo of mine if I could upload here, just to see if it looks as healthy as I think it does.
