I've had my snake plant for almost a year now and it's finally showing new growth, which feels like a win

I've had my snake plant for almost a year now and it's finally showing new growth, which feels like a win. Honestly though, I'm still not entirely sure how often to water it. I've read "barely ever" and "once a month" and I'm somewhere in between, just guessing based on how the soil feels. Anyone else overthink watering these things? Mine seems happy enough, so I guess I'm doing something right.
