I've had my Spathiphyllum wallisii for about four months now, and I'm still figuring out the watering rhythm

I've had my Spathiphyllum wallisii for about four months now, and I'm still figuring out the watering rhythm. I know they're supposed to be forgiving, but mine keeps the drama to a minimum—barely droops even when I slip up. I live in a cold climate though, so growth has been slow. Does anyone else find these actually harder to read than their reputation suggests? I'm never quite sure if it needs water or just looks thirsty out of habit.
