I've had my Zamioculcas zamiifolia for three years now, and I'm only just noticing how slowly it actually grows. Everyone says it's low-maintenance, which it is, but I think people underestimate how patient you need to be with it. I water maybe once a month in my dry climate, and that seems to suit it fine. The rhizomes are doing their thing underground—I'm pretty sure most of the action happens where you can't see it.
