I've had my Zamioculcas zamiifolia for three years now and only recently realized I've been watering it far too often for my climate. Even though it thrives on neglect, the arid air here actually dries the soil faster than I expected, so I was creating more risk than benefit. Now I water maybe every three weeks and it's genuinely happier—fewer yellowing leaflets. If you live somewhere dry, resist the urge to baby it.
