I've had my ZZ for three years now and honestly it's the closest thing I have to a plant that requires actual neglect. I water maybe every three weeks in summer and basically forget about it in winter. The only thing that got me was overwatering early on—the stems went soft and I nearly lost it. Now I just let the soil dry out completely between waterings and it thrives. In an arid climate like mine, that's non-negotiable. It's genuinely the easiest of my four plants.
