I've had my ZZ plant for about a year now and I'm finally seeing new growth after months of nothing

I've had my ZZ plant for about a year now and I'm finally seeing new growth after months of nothing. I think the secret was just leaving it alone in a corner with indirect light and watering maybe once a month. I kept fussing with it at first, moving it around and checking the soil constantly, which probably stressed it out. Now I barely think about it and it's thriving. Sometimes the best thing we can do is just give these plants some space to do their thing.
