I've had my ZZ plant for about eight months now and I'm still amazed at how little it asks of me

I've had my ZZ plant for about eight months now and I'm still amazed at how little it asks of me. I water it maybe once a month and it just keeps those glossy leaflets perfect. My one question though—is it normal for new stems to take forever to unfurl? Mine seems to be in slow motion, but it's still putting out growth, so I figure that's a good sign. Anyone else find their ZZ just quietly does its thing without drama?
