I've had my ZZ plant for two years now and finally figured out why the lower leaves kept yellowing—I was watering it way too often. In the arid climate here, I only water every three weeks or so, and it's thriving. The stuff is honestly bulletproof if you let the soil dry out completely between waterings. Mine's in a corner with indirect light and barely asks for anything. Best low-maintenance plant I own.
