I've had my ZZ plant for two years now and honestly stopped worrying about it completely—best decision I made. Mine sits in a corner with indirect light and I water maybe once a month. The thing just keeps unfurling new leaflets like clockwork. Only issue I've had is overwatering it once in winter, which caused some root rot. Now I let the soil dry out fully between waterings and it's thriving. If you have a tough spot in your home that kills everything else, a ZZ plant might actually save you.
