My fiddle leaf fig finally stopped dropping leaves after I moved it away from the north window

My fiddle leaf fig finally stopped dropping leaves after I moved it away from the north window. Turns out it needs more light than I'd assumed, even in the Mediterranean. I'm three years in and just now figured out it prefers bright, indirect rather than shaded. Has anyone else struggled with placement, or did yours settle faster than mine?
