My fiddle leaf fig has finally stopped being dramatic about water

My fiddle leaf fig has finally stopped being dramatic about water. Took me years to realize it actually prefers drying out between waterings—I was treating it like a tropical plant when it's really more forgiving than that. The leaves are glossier now than they've ever been. Anyone else struggle with overwatering these, or did yours just want to be left alone from the start?
