My Monstera deliciosa finally split a leaf after months of being pretty boring, and I'm weirdly emotional about it

My Monstera deliciosa finally split a leaf after months of being pretty boring, and I'm weirdly emotional about it! I've read that the fenestration is supposed to help the plant in its natural rainforest habitat, but I'm still not 100% sure why it actually does that. Either way, it's growing faster now that I moved it closer to the window. Has anyone else noticed their Monstera picks up speed once it gets decent indirect light?
