My Monstera finally got a split leaf after months of me obsessing over it

My Monstera finally got a split leaf after months of me obsessing over it. Turns out it just needed patience and better light—I moved it closer to my window and stopped fussing with it so much. Now I'm wondering if I should prop up the stems or let them trail. Has anyone else found one way works better than the other?
