My Monstera finally has a fenestrated leaf

My Monstera finally has a fenestrated leaf! It took months longer than I expected, but I'm genuinely excited. I kept reading that mine was "too young" to split, so I just kept watering and hoping. Now I'm wondering—does this mean it'll start doing it regularly, or was this a one-time thing? Also, I've heard conflicting advice about whether to stake it or let it climb naturally. Mine's getting leggy in my mediterranean apartment, so I'm thinking I need to figure this out soon before it gets worse.
