My Monstera finally split a leaf after two years of just growing bigger without any fenestration

My Monstera finally split a leaf after two years of just growing bigger without any fenestration. I was starting to think I'd done something wrong, but I realized it was actually just too shaded in its old spot. Moved it closer to the window and boom—new growth came in with proper holes. Has anyone else had one that took forever to develop those characteristic splits? Would love to know if it's just a patience game.
