My peace lily finally dropped a leaf after two years with me, and I realized I've been overwatering it. I thought the whole "droops when thirsty" thing meant I should keep it consistently moist, but turns out in my dry climate it actually prefers to dry out between waterings more than I expected. Lesson learned: just because a plant is forgiving doesn't mean ignore the actual conditions in your home.
