My peace lily finally flowered after sitting in my apartment for months doing absolutely nothing

My peace lily finally flowered after sitting in my apartment for months doing absolutely nothing! I think it was the move to a brighter spot that did it. The crazy thing is, I'd read they're supposed to droop when thirsty, but mine never did—I'm still not sure if I was overwatering or just lucky. Has anyone else had trouble reading the drooping signal, or is mine just stubborn?
