My peace lily has been thriving in a corner of my bedroom, and I just realized it's been three years since I brought it home. The thing that changed everything was stopping myself from watering on a schedule—now I just wait until the leaves start to droop slightly, and it bounces back within hours. Such a forgiving plant. I'm convinced half my early struggles with houseplants came from loving them too much with water.
