My peace lily has been with me for about a year now, and I finally figured out why the leaves kept drooping even when the soil was moist. Turns out mine was sitting in a corner with almost no indirect light, and it was just unhappy. I moved it closer to an east-facing window and honestly the difference is night and day. The leaves are so much more vibrant now, and it doesn't sulk nearly as much. If yours seems sluggish, try giving it a bit more brightness before assuming it needs water.
