My peace lily has finally stopped sulking after I moved it away from that sunny south-facing window

My peace lily has finally stopped sulking after I moved it away from that sunny south-facing window. I kept reading that it could handle bright indirect light, but mine seemed to prefer the shadier corner by the bookshelf instead. Has anyone else found theirs is pickier about light than the care guides suggest? I'm still learning what works for my particular setup here, and I'm curious if it's just my plant being dramatic or if others have had similar experiences.
