My pothos finally started putting out those gorgeous fenestrated leaves after two years of me just

My pothos finally started putting out those gorgeous fenestrated leaves after two years of me just... waiting. I kept it in decent light but not direct sun, and honestly I think I was overwatering it the whole time. Once I backed off and let the soil dry out more between waterings, it took off. Has anyone else found their pothos is way pickier about moisture than people say? Mine sulks if I'm too generous with the watering can, which surprised me since they're supposed to be so forgiving.
