My Sansevieria trifasciata finally pup'd after two years of sitting in the same pot

My Sansevieria trifasciata finally pup'd after two years of sitting in the same pot. I think the breakthrough was actually *not* doing anything—stopped fussing with it, moved it away from my other plants, and let it sit in bright indirect light. Barely watered it. Now I've got three babies coming up around the base. Has anyone else found that snake plants just prefer being ignored? I'm starting to think I killed mine with kindness the first time around.
