My snake plant finally put out a new leaf after sitting dormant for months, and I realized I'd been watering it way too much. I switched to a "neglect it" approach—water maybe every 3-4 weeks when the soil is bone dry—and it's thriving now. These things really do prefer to be ignored. If you're struggling with one, try backing off the water and see what happens. Mine's definitely happier for it.
