My snake plant is finally pushing out a new leaf after months of doing basically nothing, and honestly I'm not sure what I did differently

My snake plant is finally pushing out a new leaf after months of doing basically nothing, and honestly I'm not sure what I did differently. I've kept it in the same bright corner, water it every three weeks or so, and it's been pretty neglected otherwise. I have a photo of the tiny shoot if anyone wants to see it, but I'm wondering—is this normal for them to just suddenly decide to grow after being dormant? I have five other plants that seem way needier, so it's nice having at least one that doesn't stress me out.
