My ZZ finally put out new growth after sitting dormant all winter, and I realized I'd been watering it way too much in the arid heat here. Turns out it actually prefers drying out completely between waterings—I was so paranoid about killing it that I nearly did the opposite. Now I'm checking the soil before touching the watering can, and it's thriving. If you have one of these and it's looking sluggish, that's probably your culprit.
