My ZZ plant has been sitting in a corner of my living room for two years with basically zero attention, and it's still thriving. I water it maybe once a month, sometimes forget for six weeks. I think I finally understand why people recommend it for beginners—it genuinely wants to be left alone. The only thing I've learned the hard way is don't overwater it. I killed a succulent doing that, so now I err on the side of neglect with anything drought-tolerant. Has anyone else had a ZZ surprise them with how bulletproof they are?
